Last week I announced big news that Manoj and I are moving to SE Asia for at least a year and starting our adventures in Thailand. I’m so excited for this new chapter in my life and even more excited to kick my ass (and yours) into shape Thai style. Those b*tches be skinnnnney! I’m sure I’m going to get throat chopped in a Muay Thai class and come back with hippie style yoga abilities.
But all joking aside, I do want to take advantage of the new environment and build some fabulous workout routines using the Asian influences I will gain. As a first step, I was thinking of providing vacationers who are visiting Thailand a great workout leveraging the different types of terrain (i.e. mountains in the north and beaches in the south). So I need your advice on your best “on the road workouts.” Do you prefer classes offered by resorts or going to the fitness center? Are you interested in outdoorsy workouts (like hiking, swimming, beach yoga, etc.) as opposed to the gym? My favorite workouts take advantage of outdoor environments as much as possible. The last thing I want to do is be stuck in a fitness center when I’m in a new city! I love exploring, so early morning runs and long walks are two of my favorites. If I’m anywhere near a beach or a pool, a water workout is a must. I stay true to my Pisces self – I’m a water baby!
Before I head to SE Asia, I want to know what YOU do to keep in shape while traveling. Please post in the comments below. I’m looking forward to trying out some of your ideas on the other side of the world!
